Back to CDPass FAQ

What can I do if I receive a "CDPass didn't install correctly" error?

Windows XP Service Pack 2 introduced popup blocking to Internet Explorer. CDPass is sometimes blocked as a popup by systems with Service Pack 2. Look for the yellow bar near the top of your browser and enable the Active X control to be installed and enable popups. If you do not, the page can hang.

This issue may also be caused by not having administrative rights in Windows 2000 or Windows XP. This usually occurs in a corporate setting. Please contact your network administrator for more information and assistance. You must have administrator privileges in order to install the ActiveX control. Once the ActiveX control is installed, a normal user will be able to run the promotion.

Newer security applications such as Norton Internet Security or McAfee also have settings that prevent the installation of Active X controls. You must modify the settings to permit the installation of Active X controls to continue.
